Saint Mary's University is the leading primarily undergraduate research university in the Atlantic provinces. A small institution with a global impact where innovative ideas and strategic research alliances drive solutions for today's challenges.
Saint Mary's University boasts a vibrant Faculty of Arts, a renowned Sobey School of Business, and a dynamic Faculty of Science. The university prides itself on its dedicated researchers, including professors, postdoctoral fellows, research associates, and students, who engage in diverse theoretical and analytical research. This commitment fosters academic excellence and builds meaningful connections within the community.
The Research Office, led by the Associate Vice-President of Research and Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR), plays a crucial role in supporting over 100 researchers as they navigate the process of identifying, securing, and managing funding necessary for advancing their scholarly objectives. Our research initiatives are strengthened through collaborations with government agencies, private companies, grassroots initiatives, non-profit organizations, and international organizations.
The FGSR established the Office of Innovation and Community Engagement (OICE) in 2005. Since its inception, OICE has been instrumental in connecting faculty expertise with community needs, nurturing partnerships that facilitate the exchange of innovative ideas and advanced technologies. This collaborative approach not only enhances the quality of academic research but also ensures that findings have a practical impact on society.
We are eager to continue these efforts, working together to foster positive change and contribute to the advancement of our communities and the world at large.
