The Applied Certificate in Lean Six Sigma was developed specifically to help Canadian organizations reach world class operational standards, the program mixes theory and practice and is taught by highly-rated instructors with extensive real-world experience.

Program Content

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
(Thursdays, 9 - 2 hour sessions) Pre-requisite: None
September 18, 25, 2025, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 2025 and November 11, 13, 2025 

This module provides a deep dive into Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, equipping participants with essential tools to drive efficiency, eliminate waste, and foster continuous improvement. Key Learning Outcomes: 

  • Understand the origins and core principles of Lean, including the 3M framework (Muda, Mura, Muri). 
  • Apply Lean techniques such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, Poka-Yoke, Kanban, and Kaizen to streamline processes. 
  • Explore strategic planning methodologies like Hoshin Kanri and Daily Management System (DMS) to align organizational goals. 
  • Learn how workplace culture, teamwork, and engagement drive sustainable Lean transformations. 
  • Master Six Sigma fundamentals, including DMAIC, DFSS, and DCDV frameworks. 
  • Develop skills in defining and measuring project scope, capturing the Voice of the Customer (VoX), and establishing key performance metrics. 

By the end of this module, participants will have a solid foundation in Lean and Six Sigma, empowering them to lead process improvements and enhance operational excellence. 

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
(Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 15 - 2 hour sessions)
Pre-requisite: LSS Green Belt
November 20, 27, 2025, December 4, 11, 2025, January 15, 19, 22, 26, 29, 2026,  February 5, 9, 12, 19, 26, 2026 and March 5, 2026 

This module equips participants with advanced tools and methodologies to drive high-impact process improvements, ensure strategic alignment, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Key Learning Outcomes: 

  • Advanced Problem-Solving & Analysis: Master analytical tools such as Root Cause Analysis, Pareto Charts, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA to identify, prioritize, and resolve process inefficiencies. 
  • DMAIC Execution: Deepen expertise in the Improve and Control phases by developing effective solutions, piloting improvements, standardizing processes, and ensuring long-term sustainability. 
  • Strategic Alignment & Project Selection: Learn how to evaluate and prioritize projects based on business impact, resource availability, and alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Change Management & Leadership: Develop skills to lead teams through transitions, foster adaptive cultures, and implement structured change management strategies. 
  • Advanced Statistical Analysis: Apply data-driven decision-making using techniques such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, ANOVA, and Design of Experiments (DOE). 
  • Process Monitoring & Control: Utilize control charts, statistical tools, and performance monitoring techniques to ensure process stability and continuous improvement. 
  • AI & ESG Integration: Explore the role of Artificial Intelligence in optimizing efficiency, enhancing ESG initiatives, and supporting sustainable business practices. 
  • Project Closure & Impact Analysis: Learn how to effectively close projects, document key insights, and translate outcomes into long-term organizational improvements.
